Some of Carol’s recent finds:

Imported glass buttons from West Germany in the 1950s.

A “Brilliant” find: Darian buttons mounted on a store card!!

Victorian Artillery button with Lincoln Stuart bachmark:

AMF button with ‘Commonwealth’ backmark:

If this refers to the clothing line of Foy & Gibson, it may be that they supplied uniforms. An alternative is that the button was on a uniform made at the Commonwealth Factory located in Melbourne. However, I don’t know who the button manufacturer was.

Seen online:

This design is seen on Beauclaire cards from the 1950s. Could the capital H stand for Herrman?

Berthold Herrman founded the button manufacturing business that became O. C. Rheuben, then General Plastics (the makers of Beauclaire buttons).
